On 12/04/05, we celebrated December's birthdays at the temple. In the photo, starting from left, are Linda, Nicole and Tom. The big cake was bought, it was coffee tiramisu cake. (Fanny said it was tiramisu cake. It tasted like coffee to me though. :)) The little ones (very cute) were made by the children in the Sunday class that morning.

Happy birthday to them and those whose birthdays are in December but were not at the temple.

Due to some unforseen reason, the basketaball tournament date has been changed to 1/8/06.

Due to possible severe weather on 11/24/05. The garage sale on this day has been moved to Saturday, 11/26/05.

The performance on seniors' day, 10/02/05, was a success. Thanks to all those who performed. A big thanks to Lin, who dressed up as the beautiful Statue of Liberty lady.

Today is the inauguration of the new President of the NY YAD and its new executives. The inauguration was held after the temple’s weekly Sunday chanting service. Presented by the Abbess of the NY temple, Venerable Yung Ku and the President of the BLIA NY Subdivision, President Wong, the new members was formally inaugurated and introduced to the temple devotees. During the inauguration, David first thanked Venerables and devotees for all their supports and encouragements, he then promised to lead the group to benefit the humanities and carry out BLIA YAD missions. Two of the major goals for the future are to reach out into the community and recruit more members into the team After the inauguration, we held this year’s first meeting with our new President and executives. Along side the meeting is Jenny, who is now the Advisor of our subdivision. Both Jenny and David gave the new executives and members a detailed description on what the duties of each position are and what is expected from them in the new term. Thereafter, David reviewed our roles and duties for the upcoming Chinese New Year celebration and also outlined the activities for the year 2008.

All members who want to join the NYYAD basketball team, please contact David Lee or Angel for more info. There is a basketball practice every Sunday at 1:30 unless there's a meeting.

2005 International Buddha's Light Young Adult Conference ended on 7/23/2005. Everyone is tired. NY, our division, really worked as a team this year. We were probably the most energetic group among all. Kudos to Jenny who leads the team so well.

2005 IBPS summer camp photos are now up. I were not able to take photos for quite a few events. So you won't see every bit that went on during the summer camp. There are over 300+ photos, happy clicking.
